im about to go to bmw school at uti and was wondering how much you make around the immediate las vegas area. I was in vegas this summer and the best area was henderson. i am looking to move there when i get out of school in 2008. appreciate it.

In MD - I have a cousin who does alignments at a BMW dealership and I estimate that the range of salaries for technicians (not mechanics) range from $50K - $80K depending on years of experience.
not sure of Vegas but in California - id say if you go dealer and union shop - 1st year apprentice about 20k if that - flat rate shops bro are harsh you got to know your stuff to make cash..seen a lvl 5 tech with smog license make 85 - 100k but that is like 20 years experience and knowledge base to make a few books from..

well it depends on you and the dealer. If you are slow you make less. As for UTI to me that's just another diploma mill school and that will make about zero when you start a job at a dealer. Think about this way. Even if you go to school you will find the way the school is and the way any car dealer are totally different. When you start even with school most likey you will be the Lube man. That pays $ and you school costs $$$ plus you need to buy tools $$$ and I see so many guys start from UTI and think they are going to make 50 -75k a year and find its more like 20-25k a year. Most regret the money they spent of the school after wards .Good luck and start at a dealer NOW and get your foot in the door and see if its really something you will like then to spend your money and hate it.
