Idle regulating valve problem in 1990 BMW 525?

I have a 1990,BMW 525i.Recently i found that my car idles eractically sometimes.In a week these rough idle problem came twice.Once when the car is in the move it stopped completely.After 1 min started again..it started.When i wento my mechanic he just tapped the choke with a handle of a screw driver and the idling become ok.He told that choke has to be replaced.can it be cleaned by any way....For your reference i have given the link which shows the part.

Take the ICV out of the car and use some carburetor spray to clean it out. The rotating gate inside the valve should move back and forth with a very light touch from your finger. If it cannot be made to rotate easily, then it may be no good.

As stated above you can clean it with a little carb cleaner. If that doesn't work order one online, not from the dealer and install it yourself.



You have already shown you are capable of doing this work just by the fact you found it on realoem.com. Getting to it is the hardest part of removal. Having the extra engine bay space of the 5 will be nice though.



I need to clean mine soon as well.
