just noticed a yellow light appearing on the dash board of my bmw... it a samll yellow box with what looks to be a water symbol in it... can someone please tell me what this is?

water level is getting low if it's the water light. if it's a oil can with drip coming out of it , it means you are getting low on oil or oil pressure is low. CHECK YOUR FUILDS!!!

i think it might be the oil (need to change it)
i have one also,though i havent had the problem(yet) it does sound like its the oil.Theres a light that tells u wen an oil change is due as well,it may be that.Hope that helped.
if its a little wave of water its the coolant level, if its a squirt of water going up then its the washer bottle level , or if there's a little oil can in it then its the oil pressure warning with usually goes out within a few seconds of starting the vehicle,
so, check your washer level , o/s/f corner of engine bay, whitch circular lid, then check your coolant n/s/f of engine bay attached to the side of the radiator( looks like a flat panel tv wth no screen) and then check the oil, your dipstick is on the n/s of the engine about 6 inches from the front of the engine

I have a 2001 330Ci,i have the symbol on always well most of the time,i asked the dealer about it,he told me that the place were the water was kept for the whipers is leaking,so everytime you put water in it leaks out in a few days,have it checked
