Transmission light on BMW with 50k miles?

I have a 2004 BMW 325xi and the transmission light has come on twice in the past week after I made a slow speed turn onto a street.

After the light coming on the car has a lot of trouble accelerating. What is wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated, best answer gets 10 points.

Forget the new light!! Your Transmission computer is putting your transmission into fail-safe mode because there is a problem. It may be a lot of diff rent things so you should get it checked out asap before more damage happens. It will be cheaper now than later.

i am not sure u might want 2 try 2 get a new transmission light!!
have you be mantaining your transmission like check the fluid and changing the fluid? that might be your problem and also the transmission sensor might be going out. So take your car to a BMW dealer they can help. it just very odd that it having problems at 50K.
