i live in NY and i recently went to an all russian neigborhood near the beach. every single car parked is either a mercedes a bmw or a lexus. they don't drive anything else. especially a lot of them are SUV's. what is it with russians and the bmw, lexus, mercedes?

No, none, of those answers is correct. :)
Russians are not stupid, perhaps, there are black russians, born from mixed families. Not all Russians are mafia - sorry you guys, as much as Hollywood wants you to believe it, James Bond especially so, just please use common sense and think for yourselves.
I suppose that perhaps that was a sort of rich area of Russian community, and I explain it by the fact that many (not all for sure) Russians have those cars just because they may come from a poor background in Russia, and so they want to try and feel rich, and seem well-off.
Anyway, living beside a sea-side already shows someone with a nice account, so someone else would have their latest Toyotas and Jeeps in their place.

Because those vehicles are perks from the dealerships involved in money laundering for the Russian mob.
Actually, they did a study, and found that racists have poor vision. There were probably many other types of cars, and people who weren't Russian, but due to your poor eye sight (caused by racism) you could not see them.
