I'd be wary of a car being sold by the owner that is way below list especially a high end model, have the car thoroughly inspected first, BMW automatics are notorious for transmission problems

it very well could be a scam. but to answer your question.... manuals are cheaper then automatics because not many people can drive a manual(standard) transmission car.

Depends on the vehicle make but it is easier to maintain a manual trans. car. I like them the best.
An M3 for 5700. There is obviously something wrong. First of all they are worth every bit of 30000. This is a scam, or it was hit by a train and never fixed. The engine alone is worth 10000.

Yes. Almost in all situations, manuals do not hold their value as good as an automatic car does. I never really have understood that concept but, they do deduct some of the value of the car if it is manual versus automatic. I personally prefer to drive stick but, that's just me. Best wishes!!!
