Does a 1998 BMW 323is have real leather seats, or pleather?

I am buying this car, but im just wondering if the leather is real or not. It looks like leather, but im not sure if it is pleather, or real leather. Does BMW make cars with fake leather? Or, are all BMWs either cloth interior or real leather interior?

All BMW 3 series in the US come with leatherette as the base package, and will only be optioned with real leather. This is true even up till now I believe.

Real leather wrinkle, gloss and crack over time on areas where it is worn. On a 1998 vehicle, this might be easy to spot.

I believe they had both options with the leather being an upgrade. My 97 328is has leather and you can tell a difference by the way it feels. Also, mine came with a sample of the leather inside the car manual. If it has a tear or a scratch you can tell also. The pleather that I have felt in another bmw has a rubber feel to it.
