My little 1997 BMW has an oil leak. The engine is coated down one side, looks like its been leaking a while. Cant see where the leaks from , performance not affected and no warning lights on. Does anyone have any ideas?

Check the oil filter and change it mine was damaged due to sabaotage but they should be changed every 5 or so years when mine was leaking it when the engine was running and was pouring out and it had been puncutured .Oil filters cost about a fiver and are easy to change try replacing it if it still leaks take it to a mechanic

change the oil it is not good for a lifetime
clean the oil leak with degreaser, start the engine and then tell us where its coming from!
