2008 brand new toyota camry vs. 2005 BMW 325i (used)?

my dad is planning to get me a car and his budget max is 20,000. Hes thinking of getting me a 2008 brand new toyota camry, but i would prefer something else. And I found this 2005 BMW 325i with 25,092 mileage and $21,863. Which one should i get? i want the bmw one, cuz it has more power and stuff, but i dunno if i should go for it.

One major word: WARRANTY. If the Bimmer is a "BMW Certified" vehicle, it'll be worth a look. However, if not, you've lost three years of an already-shrinking warranty period.

The Bimmer may have the cool factor nailed down, but the Camry will be a solid, well-backed car that will give you years of trouble-free service.

You should consider the Toyota because it is brand new and would have better options as far as a warranty goes. Also, you get the benefit of having a brand new car, and a Camry is a very reliable one. It also has good gas mileage. However, all that being said...I frickin' love a BMW 325i...if you are serious about the BMW, make sure to get a carfax record on it. You are lucky that your dad is going to buy you a brand new car! Check the pricing on insurance, if he's being so generous as to buy you a new car. you should be as generous as he is by keeping in mind all of the other aspects of adding an additional car to the insurance policy, the upkeep etc. BMW's aren't really known for their reliability after a few years, plus they're really expensive to fix. I hope that helps!
