Should I put the original engine in a 1981 BMW 320i, or should I put in an upgraded M3 engine?

Can a BMW E36 M3 engine fit into a 1981 BMW 320i frame?

If so, how much will that engine cost, and how much would a BMW E30 engine cost; the new and used kinds?

I dont think a e36 M3 engine will fit 320i frame. The M-POWER engine will cost you a fair amount of money. good luck hooking up that engine thats going to be a *****
