If you like the feeling of sitting higher, then look at an X3. I personally don't like them, but they feel just like a 3 series meaning smaller, not as wide, or as tall, but they sit higher than a 3 series car would which you are used to now from driving the X5.

A very good friend of mine who is roughly your age and 5'1" drove a new 328 I had last summer and she fit just fine in it. She likes my M3, but can't drive a clutch that well. It's not the easiest manual car to drive, not one for her to practice on, but otherwise she would fit fine in it also. I haven't driven a 1 series yet, but they are smaller still, about the size of the E36 3 series I believe.

Get the Z4. That's at least sexy, unlike the m3. Report It

You really shouldn't buy a new car as a first car, even if you can afford it. If you want to feel "high off the ground," a Ford Explorer would suite you fine. New cars are expensive to repair, and expensive to insure. If/when I have a kid, he/she will be getting an older Volvo, because it will be safe and get the child where he/she needs to go. You can't ask for much more than that as a 16 year old. Young kids like yourself are not at all experienced driving on public roads. And I find that most young kids assume that everyone else will abide by all of the traffic laws and such - and that's just incorrect. That's why it's a more practical option for a new driver to have an older car.
